The most cost-effective airport to fly into the area is to Anchorage (ANC).There are flights which come into Kenai airport (ENA) as well; however, airfares are far-higher than flying into Anchorage. Rental car rates are also cheaper at ANC.
As you leave Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport heading east on West International Airport Road and Walter J. Hickel Pkwy, follow that road easterly for approximately 13 miles to Seward Highway (AK-1 S). Drive for 82 miles and merge right on Sterling Highway toward Soldotna/Homer for another 58 miles for a total of approximately 140 miles on the Sterling Highway.
As you enter Soldotna, continue through the city and cross the bridge over the Kenai River and at the next light, turn left onto Funny River Road. Drive approximately 17 miles until the paved road transitions to a maintained gravel road (Moonshine Drive).Once you enter Moonshine Drive the road changes from asphalt to maintainedgravel. Kenai River Soaring Eagle Lodge & Cabins will be on your left, just a couple of hundred feet after you enter Moonshine drive.
